3 Hour Diet Plan with Timing and Portion Control

This is not a restrictive and torturous fad diet that prevents you from eating the foods you enjoy. FitSmart columnist and wellness expert, Jorge Cruise who is famous for his "8 Minutes" and “12 Second Sequence” strength training exercise series, wrote the 3 Hour Diet plan, which focuses on eating frequently. With breakfast beginning around 7:00 am, dieters are advised to eat every three hours, which results in three meals a day with two snacks in between. A small treat such as a mini sized candy bar may also be eaten after lunch. This regimented diet plan emphasizes eating the right foods frequently to speed up the metabolism while allowing dieters to continue eating some fatty and junk foods. The 3-Hour Diet boasts of dieters being able to lose as much as ten pounds in the first two weeks and then two pounds of belly fat weight loss per additional week.

Increasing Metabolism by raising Blood Sugar

The three hour diet claims that eating every three hours keeps blood sugar elevated and revs the metabolism to burn fat instead of muscle, and the higher blood sugar also keeps the person from getting hungry or feeling fatigued. In addition, Jorge suggests drinking about eight glasses of water daily while dieting and he suggests refraining from eating three hours prior to going to sleep. The Three Hour Dieter should also develop a meal plan to include healthy portions that combine food groups to include protein, carbohydrates, fat, and fruits and vegetables. In addition to diet planning guides available on his website, Cruise gives visual examples of acceptable portion limits by referencing a deck of cards for protein intake and the Rubik’s cube for carbs, and he recommends dieters only consume enough fat to fill a water bottle lid. Cruise implies if a person manages time between meals then their appetite will be controlled, but this diet plan primarily asserts that by eating more frequently, we will consume fewer calories and our bodies will burn the consumed calories more efficiently.

Weight Loss through Food Management

The three-hour diet plan offers thousands of food options for meal planning, but as with all diets, there still appears to be some level of emphasis placed on calorie restriction and portion control. On a positive note, dieters will not have to completely give up any of their favorite comfort foods. However, it can become cumbersome to eat every three hours, particularly for busy moms and professionals on the go. Planning and preparing meals ahead of time may help dieters adjust to the routine if they are committed to the 3 hour diet plan. And because it is not restrictive, this type of diet will encourage lifestyle changes for continued weight loss versus the crash diets that only last a few weeks or months only to have the dieter regain the weight. Care should be taken to adhere to the sensible side of this diet plan because it does not emphasize nutrition as much as some other low-carb or reduced calories diets. If used with common sense, this diet could produce results, but some dieters may see the allowance of fast food as an opportunity to make cheeseburgers and fries part of their daily routine.
