Foods to avoid while eating the best food for your health.

Most people tend to avoid variety and commit the dietary sin of monotony. They also consume foods not according to what is best for them but according to what tastes best to them. Eating a varied diet while avoiding foods that are not good for the body reduces health problems by rejuvenating the body. The optimal diet should contain more of vegetables, fruits and whole grains than any other foods.

Do not eat refined sugars, such as white sugar (sucrose,) corn syrup, fructose, synthetic sugars, saccharin and NutraSweet. Make good use of the natural sweeteners available, in the form of fruit juices, organic maple syrup, honey, barley malt, organic sugarcane and molasses. Avoid these if you are a diabetic.
Refined flours are bad for health, such as white flour, unbleached flour, bleached flour and enriched flour. Even other products that contain this flour should be avoided. Whole grains that are organic and are not altered are good, such as amaranth, kamut and quinoa.
Fats that are synthetic are bad for us. Avoid margarine, hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils and vegetable shortening. Oils that are unsaturated, such as olive oil, flaxseed oil, safflower oil are good. You can even use butter if raw and organic.
Saturated fats are bad for health. Avoid using meats, palm and coconut oils and butter. Usage of unsaturated oils like corn, safflower oil, cold-pressed grapeseed, olive oil and canola oil is good for health. Oils must be fresh and cold-pressed. Rancid oils are not good.
Processed cheese, homogenized, pasteurized and nonfat or acidophilus milk Whole milk (raw) has Vitamin A. Cultured milk products, such as buttermilk, yogurt, goat’s milk and kefir. Cheese that is unprocessed can be taken. If you are lactose intolerant, use these products in moderation.
Seeds and nuts that are sugared, oiled, salted or commercial. Organic seeds and nuts are better for health, and best if they are soaked for about six hours, roasted or blanched in order or destroy enzyme inhibitors.
Commercial poultry and red meat. Organic animal foods, like beef or lamb and organic free range poultry. Fish that is not from polluted waters is also good.
Commercial eggs and egg substitutes. Organic eggs are very good, since they do not contain any chemicals, drugs or hormones and come from the free range ducks or chickens.
Processed fast foods, canned foods, microwaved, precooked and junk foods. Organic foods are the best, next comes fresh nonorganic, and then frozen and canned if there is no other option – in that order.
Any commercial drinks, sugared fruit juices, soft drinks including diet drinks and juice drinks. Raw juices are best that are made at home. The next option is to buy 100% juice, which is raw and organic.
Canned coffee and commercial decaffeinated coffee. Grinding your own beans is the best option if you can get your hands on Swiss water-processed decaffeinated beans.
Even with these, limit your intake to not more than 3 cups of coffee per day. Try organic black or herbal teas.
Wrong foods, instead of nourishing the body, may start acting against it. Eating a varied diet minimizes these problems. You do not have to count calories and starve yourself, if you just replace the canned products on your kitchen shelf to the above given foods.
