Obesity and Exercise Programs: Key to a Healthier Weight

Combat traditional and genetic obesity by exercising

There could be no other factors that would cause or increase the risks for obesity other than food, physical activities, family history and genes. Since family history and genes are beyond a person’s control, the only factors one can modify is his diet and physical activity. There is no question on how diet and physical activities affect a person’s weight. If these two are extra helpful in maintaining an ideal weight, the more helpful these two will become when done by obese patients. For people diagnosed with obesity, it is very essential that they follow an appropriate obesity diet and structured obesity exercise plan.

Resting, Thermic and Activity Energy Expediture

According to many studies, the energy consumed everyday is divided into three. The first one is the resting energy expenditure, the second one is the thermic effect and the last one is the activity energy expenditure. The first one is the energy involved in processing the energies used in maintaining electrochemical gradients, generating heat and synthesizing the proteins. The second one is the energy measured by counting the oxygen increase after having a meal and the last one is the type of energy used to carry out physical activities and exercises. Among the three energy expenditures, the most important variable is the third type. The percentage of expenditure of the Activity Energy Expenditure should be higher than the percentage of the REE. The opposite happens to people who are sedentary and who do not really have much physical activities. These people are also the ones prone to obesity. This is one reason why obesity diagnosed patients should increase their AEE by doing Obesity Exercise.

Progressive obesity exercise programs

Obesity Exercise is the type of physical activity designed specially for obese patients. This is not so rigid since obese people are not as flexible as those who are not obese. Obesity exercises are designed with periodic programs. It starts with a very light program which is considered preparation for more rigid activities. Initially, the length of time needed to perform the activities is relatively shorter than the others. After the first period, the length of time is increased and additional activities are done. This type of exercises requires pulse and heart beat monitoring. Obese people are also not allowed to be tired and be stressed since these people are also diagnosed with other complications and excessive exposure to strenuous activities are strictly not allowed.

Generally, all types of exercises are hard the first time. This is most especially true for obesity exercise programs. However, with constant practice combined with self discipline, you are on your way to a healthier weight.
